As a precaution after Sunday's , local police have stepped up patrols near Orange County's two Sikh centers.

Police commanders in Santa Ana and Buena Park said their officers were increasing patrols near the Sikh Center of Orange County in Santa Ana and the Sikh Gurdwara in Buena Park.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles police backtracked Monday on a previous statement that they were not stepping up security at L.A.'s four temples.

"The LAPD took quick and decisive action to ensure our Sikh community was safe," LAPD Deputy Chief Mike Downing -- commanding officer of the Counter Terrorism and Special Operations Bureau -- said in a statement. "We immediately notified our patrol watch commanders and increased police patrols at and around our ... Sikh temples."

In Wisconsin, the suburban Milwaukee attack was being treated as an act of domestic terrorism, according to police there.

Yes, that was a horrific attack. Its hard to understand the minds of people that like attacker--who was apparently a White supremacist--or the CO shooter. I can only guess that they were so consumed by focusing on perceived wrongs without finding a constructive outlet for their anger & frustrations, that they allowed anger & frustration to consume them until events like these happened. You wonder if he thought they were Muslims--as happened in attacks on Sikhs after 9/11 or what. However whatever his motivations those people have had their lives disrupted & torn apart, like those in the Aurora theater. But just hard to imagine how someone could be so, whatever, to decide to shoot people who are just going about their lives.
