Laguna Beach Police Seek Violent Home-Invasion Robbers

The LBPD is asking for help finding four men who invaded and ransacked a Laguna Beach home and pistol-whipped the occupants.

Police are looking for four men responsible for a violent home-invasion robbery in Laguna Beach Saturday.

According to the Laguna Beach Police Department, four armed men entered a home in the Laguna Terraces Trailer Park located at 30802 Pacific Coast Highway and pistol-whipped two of its three occupants as they ransacked the home and made off with an undisclosed amount of items.

The incident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Laguna Beach Police Department Capt. Jason Kravetz.

“Responding officers were told that multiple armed suspects entered the residence through an unlocked sliding glass door and assaulted the three startled male occupants,” Kravetz said in a written statement. “At the time of the robbery, two victims were in the living room watching television and a third was asleep in his bedroom.  After having all three victims lie face down on the living room floor, the suspects ransacked one of the bedrooms…Two of the victims were injured during the assault when they were pistol whipped in the head by the suspects.”

The two victims are 52-year-old and 72-year-old Laguna Beach residents. The third victim, Angel Solis, was a house guest visiting for the evening.

Solis told KCBS-TV that the intruders "were asking where the money was."

"When I saw it, at first I thought it was a joke from someone around here," Solis told the station. "But then he pulled out the gun, and it was all going on for real."

Solis, who said his mouth was duct-taped by the invaders, said he has no clue why they were targeted.

Paramedics treated the victims and transported the 72-year-old to the hospital for additional care.

The suspects are described as four armed African-American men with varying builds. One was in his early 20’s, thin, and possibly wearing a mask around the lower portion of his face, according to police.

Anyone who saw anything unusual that might be related to the incident is urged to contact the Investigations Division at (949) 497-0377.

“No other information is being released at this point, because it could jeopardize the investigation,” added Kravetz.

Sounds like a dope rip off? What self respecting gang of home invasion robbers crashes a mobile home? Dope is alive and well in Laguna Beach.

How scary to think our scenic little town, that one who lives here, feels safe here, now has to worry about this unthinkable act.

Home invasions are increasing rapidly. These thugs know that there is less of a chance getting caught burglarizing a home then robbing businesses. So stay safe, be vigilant, install deadbolts and keep alarm activated. If you don't have an alarm system try the United States Security Company Directory ( USSCD.com) for great affordable home security options.

Adopt a dog, save on batteries, no wires to be cut from outside and a real alarm system and deterrent.
