On Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at approximately 6:15 p.m., the Boat Parade will open with a fireworks display off the Newport Pier (the pier will be closed from approximately 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Thursday, December 19).
A second fireworks display will take place Sunday, December 22, 2013 at approximately 9:00 p.m. off the Balboa Pier to mark the closing night of the Boat Parade (the pier will be closed from approximately 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday, December 23).

Here are some tips to minimize the impact of the loud noises associated with fireworks:
- Bring pets indoors during the fireworks display and, if possible, secure them in an inner room which is least impacted by exterior noise
- Close all doors and windows
- Close window coverings to further dampen the noise
- Use television and/or radio to offset the noise
