A 56-year-old Costa Mesa man was fatally struck by a vehicle in Newport Beach on Friday, authorities said Sunday.
James McClain was on Irvine Avenue near Anniversary Lane when he was struck about 8 p.m. Friday, according to police and the coroner's office.
McClain was taken to Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo by paramedics, and was declared dead about 3:45 a.m. Saturday, according to City News Service.
