Overturned Cement Truck Causes Heavy Traffic

A cement truck overturned Tuesday on the 73 Freeway. Police encourage drivers to avoid Jamboree Road and Bristol Street.

A yellow cement truck overturned today on the southbound 73 Freeway and caused major traffic in Newport Beach, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The cement truck crash happened at about 10 a.m., causing a SigAlert to be issued for two lanes. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, the CHP reported.

At 12:30 p.m. the Newport Beach Police Department issued an advisory encouraging drivers to avoid Jamboree Road and Bristol Street due to heavy traffic congestion.

Traffic delays are expected in the area until about 3 p.m.
