Newport Man Injured in Florida Motorcycle Crash

A 53-year-old Newport Beach man was injured Sunday following a crash between a motorcycle and a Ford 500, according to news reports.

A Newport Beach motorcyclist was airlifted to a hospital Sunday after a crash in Florida, according to the Daytona-Beach News Journal.

Alan Taylor, 53, was injured at about 12:45 p.m. at the intersection of State Road A1A and Club House Drive in Flagler Beach, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The Daytona-Beach News Journal reported the crash occurred when Taylor's Harley Davidson crashed into a Ford 500 driven by an 80-year-old Flagler Beach man.

Taylor was taken by helicopter to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach with non life-threatening injuries, the newspaper reported.

Duty Officer Rick Skinner told the Daytona-Beach News Journal the driver of the Ford "turned left directly into the path of Taylor."
