Newport House Catches Fire, No Injuries Reported

A fire broke out at a house early Saturday in Newport Beach, but no injuries were reported, a fire official reported.

The fire was reported just before 5 a.m. at a two-story home at 209 E. Balboa Blvd, according to Newport Beach Fire Capt. Michael Liberto. Responding firefighters contained the blaze to the patio area of the second floor.

Fire investigators reported the fire caused about $30,000 in damage to the home.

Liberto said the cause of the fire was under investigation.
