Newport Beach Police Arrest Alleged Human Trafficker, Pimp

If convicted at trial, Ronald Spurlock could face up to 28 years and eight months in prison.

A 36-year-old Santa Ana man pleaded not guilty today to multiple counts of human trafficking, pimping and drug possession.

Ronald Preston Spurlock, who was charged and arraigned today, was arrested following an investigation by Newport Beach police and the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

Details of Spurlock's arrest and alleged crimes were not immediately released.

Spurlock is charged with one count of human trafficking, five counts of pimping, five counts of pandering an adult victim, two counts of sale or transportation of marijuana, and one count each of possession of marijuana for sale and possession of a firearm by a felon with a prior conviction.
