Motorcyclist Dies in Newport Beach Crash

The circumstances of the collision are still under investigation.

A motorcyclist died this morning after colliding with a vehicle in Newport Beach, police said.

The report of an accident at the intersection of East Coast Highway and Reef Point Drive came in to Newport Beach police at about 9:13 a.m., according to a press release.

The motorcyclist suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Newport Beach Fire Department paramedics.

The eastbound lanes on Coast Highway at Reef Point Drive remain closed

It's the third motorcycle fatality in two days in Orange County.
