Update: Motorcyclist Killed in Newport Crash
Long Beach resident Patrick Lee was killed after seven cars and a motorcycle crashed Thursday evening at the intersection of Bristol Street North and Campus Drive.
A motorcyclist was fatally injured Thursday evening in a crash that included seven cars, a fire captain reported.
At about 5:20 p.m. a crash involving seven cars and a motorcyclist occurred at the intersection of Bristol Street North and Campus Drive, according to Newport Beach Fire Capt. Michael Liberto. Motorcyclist Patrick Lee, 25, was taken in critical condition to Western Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later, the Orange County coroner's office reported.
Another person was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The cause of the crash was under investigation by the Newport Beach Police Department.
Liberto said the Newport Beach Fire Department urges drivers to "be attentive and share the road with smaller vehicles such as motorcycles, motor scooters and bicyclists."
