Investigation Continues into Fatal Motorcycle Crash

Investigators in Newport Beach are working to determine what caused the fatal crash that killed twenty-five-year-old Patrick Lee.

Traffic investigators have not yet determined the cause of a fatal motorcycle crash in Newport Beach last month that claimed the life of a former U.S. Marine, a police official reported.

On Aug. 22 Long Beach resident Patrick Lee, 25, was killed after seven cars and his motorcycle crashed at the intersection of Bristol Street North and Campus Drive. Newport Beach police said the investigation remains open.

"There have been no citations or arrests at this point," Jennifer Manzella, police spokeswoman, said Monday. "Preliminarily, it does not seem that drugs, alcohol, or excessive speed were a factor."

Manzella said the cause of the fatal crash has not been determined and said the investigation "is not yet complete."

Lee had served a tour in Iraq, according to his friends, and worked odd jobs around Orange County.
