Goods Stolen from Unlocked Newport Cars

Cars parked on Driftwood, Marigold, Iris and Evening Canyon Road were broken into recently in Newport Beach.

Several items were recently stolen from unlocked cars parked in Newport Beach, police reported.

The incidents took place on Monday, March 11.

• A gym bag, gift cards and an iPod were stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 200 block of Driftwood.

• Jumper cables, water shoes, CD's and a plastic bin were stolen from a car parked in the 300 block of Marigold Ave. Police said there were no signs of forced entry.

• A snowboard, tool bag and a check were stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 300 block of Iris Ave. 

• A file folder, beach bag and money were stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 200 block of Evening Canyon Road.

Police encourage residents to take valuables out of parked cars or hide them from plain sight. Remembers car doors should be locked at all times, as well as windows and sunroofs.
