Gas May Not Be Restored for Days Following Leak

The restoration process includes crews going door-to-door to restore service and to complete a safety check of all natural gas appliances or equipment.

A message from the Newport Beach Police Department regarding the gas leak:

Yesterday, a contractor damaged a natural gas line serving our community, resulting in the interruption of service on the Balboa Peninsula.

SoCalGas worked through the night to stop the leak and repair the pipeline. SoCalGas will now start the process to restore service, and this may take up to a few days to complete.

If you live or work in the effected area, SoCalGas crews will require access to your home or business to restore service. If no one is home the meter will be tagged, and service will not be restored until access to the structure is accomplished.
