4 Arrested in Alleged Fencing Scheme

Electronic goods were reportedly sold at swap meet. Police seek to reunite items with their owners.

Police have arrested four Costa Mesa men on suspicion of possession of stolen property, officials said.

Police served a search warrant Saturday about 8 a.m. in the 1000 block of Valencia Street in Costa Mesa and arrested Alfredo Alba Flores, 46, Dorian Alva Flores, 22, Dante Alva Flores, 21, and Edgardo Alva Flores, 19, on suspicion of possessing stolen property, according to police spokeswoman Kathy Lowe.

"The warrant service resulted from an investigation alleging that stolen property was being sold to a fence at that location," Lowe said. "The stolen property was then sold at the Orange Coast College Swap Meet."

Numerous electronic devices -- including more than 100 cell phones and more than 20 laptops, iPods and GPS devices -- were recovered by detectives during the search warrant. The gear was believed to be stolen from vehicles and homes.

The four men -- who Lowe said are related --were booked at the Newport Beach Jail and held on $20,000 bail each.
