Four Men Arrested for Alleged Vehicle Burglary

A witness sees a man steal a bag from a parked car, and provides police with a description of the getaway car and license plate number.

Four men were arrested over the weekend for allegedly stealing a bag, which had a sandwich in it, from a car in Newport Beach, a police official reported.

The vehicle burglary took place Sunday just before 6 p.m. in the 600 block of Newport Center Dr. East. Jennifer Manzella, police spokeswoman, said Oscar Iglesias, 25, of South Gate, Daniel Godinez, 23, of Cuday, Edwin Jose Yhuit, 27, of Cuday, and Daniel Garcia, 28, of Chula Vista, were each arrested for vehicle burglary and conspiracy, Manzella said.

A witness called police and said a man had stolen a bag from a parked car. The car was locked, but one window was rolled down. After reaching into the car and grabbing the bag, the suspect fled in a car with three other men.

The witness gave police the description of the car and license plate number. Manzella said responding officers pulled the car over near Bayside Drive and East Coast Highway.

Officers recovered the stolen bag which had a sandwich inside.
