Four Injured in Two-Car Crash

Two cars crashed Saturday night on Newport Boulevard in Newport Beach. The cause of the accident was under investigation.

Two cars crashed Saturday night in Newport Beach, and four people were injured, a fire official reported.

The crash occurred just after 9 p.m. on Newport Boulevard, north of Hospital Road. Newport Beach Fire Capt. Glenn White said the two cars were carrying nine people. 

Three people were taken by ambulance to a local emergency room, and one person was taken to a trauma center, White said.

Eight fire units from Newport Beach, Costa Mesa and Huntington Beach responded to the accident.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Newport Beach Police Department.
