The woman, who lost control of her car in Newport Coast, escaped the crash without injuries.

A woman was rescued over the weekend by emergency responders after her car crashed into a ravine in Newport Coast, a police spokeswoman reported.

The crash occurred Saturday about 9:20 p.m. near Pelican Hill Road South and Pelican Hill Circle. Jennifer Manzella, police spokeswoman, said the woman lost control of her car and ended up in a ravine.

"She was stuck in the vehicle until the Newport Beach Fire Department responded and extricated her," Manzella said.

Officials said the car landed 40 to 50 feet down from the roadway. Firefighters walked the woman back up.
