Firefighter Rescues Boy from Crystal Cove Rocks

A dispatcher said units were able to get the boy unstuck without special equipment.

A 12-year-old boy is safe today after a firefighter rescued him from the rocks at Crystal Cove State Park.

A MetroNet dispatcher said the call came in from a concerned passer-by via cell phone. The boy had apparently been climbing down the rocks at sea bluff when he got stuck, the dispatcher said.

A full contingent of six units responded to the call, but it only took one firefighter to climb out and walk the boy out of danger without the use of special equipment.
