Newport Beach DUI Checkpoint Today

Officers will be stationed on Newport Boulevard at Finley Avenue.

The Newport Beach Police Department today will have a sobriety checkpoint on the Balboa Peninsula near City Hall.

The checkpoint is set to run from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. and will be on northbound Newport Boulevard at Finley Avenue, according to the Police Department.

The location was chosen because there are several bars and restaurants in the area, among other reasons, the Police Department said.
