Death of Woman Found in Sand Ruled a Homicide

Tina Hoang, 20, whose body was found face-down in the sand near Tower 71, was the victim of a homicide, authorities reported.

A 20-year-old Bellflower woman whose body was found in the sand in Newport Beach was the victim of a homicide, according to a report in the Daily Pilot.

Tina Hoang was found unconscious on the morning of Monday, March 4 by a passersby near Tower 71 in the area of Highland Street and West Oceanfront, according to authorities. Police will continue to investigate Hoang's death as “suspicious,” the newspaper reported.

Hoang's attorney, David Nisson, said the young woman had a baby in January and was facing multiple charges of prostitution when she died.

The Newport Beach Police Department is asking anyone who may have more information about Hoang's death or who may have seen her in the hours leading up to her death to call Det.
