Crime Alert Issued for Commodore Road

Newport Beach police are hosting a community meeting Thursday to talk about crime in the Mariners, Dover Shores and Baycrest neighborhoods.

Two home burglaries have been reported on Commodore Road in Newport Beach over the last 11 days. Police are urging residents to be vigilant.

The most recent burglary was reported on Monday, between 12:50 and 4:40 p.m.  at a home in the 2000 block of Commodore Road. Police said a suspect entered the home through an unlocked side gate and then through a side garage door that was not locked. 

Once inside the garage, the suspect entered the home, ransacked the bedrooms and stole a Rolex and Cartier watch.

Another burglary took place on Friday, Oct. 11 between 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. at a home in the 1900 block of Commodore Road. Police said a suspect entered the home by unknown means and stole a Chanel purse and Prada shoes from the master bedroom closet.

Residents are invited to join a Newport Beach police community meeting on Thursday from 7-8 p.m. at the Mariners Library. Police will be discussing recent crimes within the Mariners, Dover Shores and Baycrest neighborhoods.
