Crime Alert Issued for Bonita Canyon Burglaries

Two homes on Cervantes and San Antonio in the Bonita Canyon Community were burglarized within the last two weeks, Newport Beach police reported.

Newport Beach police issued a crime alert Monday after two home burglaries were reported in the Bonita Canyon Community.

A home on Cervantes was burglarized sometime between Dec. 21, 2013 and Jan. 1 while the residents were out of town. According to police, an unknown suspect entered the home by unknown means. Once inside the suspect forced open a safe and stole money and jewelry.

An unknown suspect entered the victim’s residence by unknown mean.  Once inside, the suspect located a safe and forcibly opened it and removed the listed items below.  The victims were out of town during the time of the burglary.

Another home on San Antonio was burglarized sometime between Dec. 20 and Dec. 22, 2013. According to police, an unknown suspect pried open a set of French doors, went into the home and locked the door leading from the garage into the house. The suspect forced open a safe and stole jewelry and money before fleeing.
