Coroner Releases Sketch of Body Found in Surf

Updated: The mystery man was discovered Saturday at Bolsa Chica State Beach. Officials hope the public can help identify him.

Hoping to identify a mystery man who was found floating in the surf Saturday at Bolsa Chica State Beach, the county coroner released a sketch Thursday.

The man, described as Hispanic or Middle Eastern, was spotted in the water around 9:50 a.m. near Tower 19, next to the camping grounds in Huntington Beach, officials said. He was taken to Huntington Beach Hospital, where he later died, according to a coroner press release.

Officials estimated his age at 25 to 35, and described him as 6 feet tall, 185 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Orange County Coroner's Office at 714-647-7411 and refer to Case No. 12-02271-RE.

June 18 Update: Because of an error in the original press release, an earlier version of this story incorrectly described the victim's hair color as brown. It was black.

Ryan Kenreich. Around 33. From Dana Point, known to frequent Huntington and Newport as a bit of a vagrant. It is an uncanny resemblance.

According to the coroner’s office, Ryan Kenreich was excluded Thursday night based on a fingerprint comparison. Thanks again JLS.
