Coroner Releases Name of Anaheim Man Killed on Newport Beach Offramp
Thuy Nguyen, 85, died after being hit by a pickup truck Friday night.
The name of an 85-year-old man who was fatally struck by a pickup truck on a freeway offramp in Newport Beach was released Sunday by the Orange County Coroner’s Office.
Thuy Nguyen, a resident of Anaheim, was struck by the pickup truck at 10:02 p.m. Friday on the MacArthur Boulevard offramp from the southbound Route 73 freeway.
Paramedics rushed him to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, where he was pronounced dead at 12:46 a.m. Saturday.

The California Highway Patrol has yet to release its initial reports regarding the death, a CHP dispatcher in Santa Ana said.
