An elderly Newport Beach man who was killed in a car crash Friday in Irvine has been identified, the Orange County coroner's office reported.
Irvine police said Ellis Bryant, 81, was turning into a parking lot near Michelson and University drives about 7:30 a.m. when his car was hit by another car traveling westbound on University.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 34-year-old man, was taken to a nearby hospital but his injuries were not considered life-threatening.
