CHP Reports Fewer DUI Arrests on Labor Day Weekend

Forty-five DUI arrests have been made across Orange County since the start of Labor Day weekend.

The California Highway Patrol made slightly fewer DUI arrests this year than last year statewide and in Orange County since the start of the Labor Day weekend, officials reported.

From Friday 6 p.m. until 6 a.m. today the CHP made 45 arrests in Orange County and one fatality was reported. Last year during the same period, 47 people were arrested. There were no fatalities reported in 2012.

Statewide, DUI arrests declined for this time period from 892 in 2012 to 832 in 2013. Across the state 14 deaths have been reported, compared to 11 statewide last year during the same time frame.
