Ceremony Honors Police Promotions

Members of the Newport Beach Police Department were recognized Monday for rising up the ranks.

Four members of the Newport Beach Police Department were promoted Monday at a ceremony with family, friends and city officials.

  • Sergeant Damon Psaros was promoted to Lieutenant. Lt. Psaros is a 14-year veteran of the Newport Beach Police Department. He will be transferred from the Traffic Division where he served as a supervisor, to the Patrol Division where he will serve as a Watch Commander.
  • Officer Randy Querry was promoted to Sergeant. Sgt. Querry is a 23-year veteran of the Police Department and he will be assigned as a field supervisor in the Patrol Division.
  • Community Services Officer Amanda Diaz was promoted to Senior Community Services Officer. Senior Community Services Officer Diaz is a 10-year veteran of the Police Department and she will be assigned in the Records Division.
