Car Catches Fire in Newport

A vehicle parked on Quail Street caught fire Monday, but no injuries were reported, according to Newport Beach police.

A car caught fire in Newport Beach early Monday, but no injuries were reported, a police official said.

The car fire was reported just before 8:30 a.m. on Quail Street, east of Birch Street. Kathy Lowe, police spokeswoman, said Newport Beach police and firefighters responded to the scene, but the fire was already extinguished when the arrived.

The vehicle was towed from the location at the owner’s request. No injuries were reported.
