Burglars Strike Harbor View Hills

Two homes were recently burglarized within a week of each other in the Harbor View Hills Community, prompting Newport Beach police to issue a crime alert.

Most recently a home in the 1100 block of Goldenrod Avenue was burglarized sometime between Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. and Thursday, Nov. 7 at 9 a.m. According to police, a suspect smashed a sliding glass door, went into the home and rummaged through the master bedroom. Jewelry and a pillow case were reported stolen.

The first burglary reported in the area happened on Oct. 31 between 6:15 and 8 p.m. at a home in the 2700 block of Harbor View Drive. Police said the suspect pried open a rear sliding glass door, went into the home and stole money, jewelry and a pillow case.
