Burglars Force Way into Newport Homes, Ransack Rooms

In one case a burglar kicked in the front door of a home on 22nd Street in Newport Beach.

Two homes in Newport Beach were recently burglarized when suspects forced their way into the residences, police reported.

On Friday, Aug. 23 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., a home in the 300 block of E. 22nd Street was broken into when a suspect kicked in the front door. Police said the burglar ransacked several rooms. On Monday between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., a home in the 2500 block of Lake Park Lane was burglarized when a  suspect tried to pry open the front door, but it was secured with a deadbolt lock. According to police, the burglar then forced open a locked window that was next to the front door. Once inside the home, the suspect ransacked the office and master bedroom.



Computer and jewelry were stolen from one of the homes, police said.
