Burglar Cuts Window Screen While Residents Are Out

Jewelry and a backpack were stolen from a home on Beryl Lane in Newport Beach.

A burglar cut a window screen and entered a Newport Beach home recently while the residents were out on a walk, police reported.

The burglary took place on Tuesday, July 16 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at a home in the 2000 block of Beryl Lane. According to police, the suspect cut the screen to a back window screen and stole jewelry and a backpack from the house.

No other information was available.
