Christmas Eve Burglar Smashes Window to Enter Home

The home on Avalon Vista in Newport Beach was burglarized on Christmas Eve, police reported.

A home in Newport Beach was burglarized and ransacked on Christmas Eve, police reported.

The burglary took place on Tuesday, sometime between 7 p.m. and midnight, at a home on Avalon Vista. According to police, the suspect used a vine to climb onto the second floor ledge to get onto the balcony. The suspect then smashed a window of a French door and crawled inside the house. Police said the suspect forced open a locked closet door, ransacked it and then ransacked a second closet before fleeing back down the balcony.

Money and a Rolex watch were reported stolen from the home.
