Brass Knuckles Found in Passenger's Bag at JWA

The incident comes a week after security officials at the airport found throwing stars and ammunition in passengers' bags.

Security officials at John Wayne Airport on Friday found brass knuckles in a passenger's carry-on bag, a Transportation Safety Administration spokesman said.

The passenger told authorities that he borrowed the bag and didn't look through it before packing, TSA spokesman Nico Melendez said. A TSA officer found the brass knuckles during the x-ray screening passengers undergo, he said.

"It's always a good idea to look through a bag before you bring it to the airport to make sure there are no illegal or prohibited items," Melendez said.
