A body surfer was injured at the Wedge in Newport Beach on Wednesday, according to a report in the Daily Pilot.
The incident took place at about 2 p.m. when a lifeguard called for help after seeing a body surfer who needed help. The newspaper reported the body surfer may have suffered a spinal injury, but officials said it "seemed minor."
