A.M. Roundup: Local Woman Hurt in Crash; Whole Foods at Fashion Island; Free Concert

A handful of things happening in and around Newport Beach.

• A Corona del Mar woman was injured in a car crash that claimed the life of an Irvine woman, a police lieutenant said Wednesday. The four-car crash occurred just before 5 p.m. Tuesday on University Drive at Rosa Drew Lane, according to Irvine police Lt. Julia Engen. Elizabeth Eddleman, 22, of Irvine was behind the wheel of a BMW and was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead, the coroner's office reported. The 26-year-old woman from Corona del Mar, whose name was not released, was driving an SUV and suffered serious injuries. She was taken to a hospital, and as of Wednesday, her condition was undisclosed. 

• A Whole Foods Market will open at next year, The Orange County Register reports.  The 32,000-square-foot store will be Whole Food's fifth in Orange County and first in Newport Beach, the story said.

Greg Young and the 2nd Street Band will play Sunday at 6 p.m. at as part of the city's concert in the park series. The event is free.
