A 6-month-old Huntington Beach girl believed to have been taken by her grandmother was located in Arizona today.

Lt. Bo Svendsbo of the Huntington Beach Police Department said shortly after 7 p.m. the girl, Laylani Mosley, had been located in Arizona "within the last half hour."

Svendsbo said he did not know the circumstances of the girl being found but said he had no reason to think she had been injured.

Svendsbo also said he did not know if the girl's grandmother was with her.

An Amber Alert was issued earlier for the girl.

Police were told about the missing girl about 12:25 p.m., according to Huntington Beach police Lt. Mitch O'Brien.

The girl had last been seen about 9 a.m. with her grandmother, 57-year- old Carolyn Ferguson, who family members said had a history of mental illness and depends on medication, O'Brien said.

Ferguson was last seen about 10 a.m. in Fontana in a 2007 PT Cruiser, which has front-end damage and a license plate of 5UQZ701, O'Brien said.

Ferguson is white, about 5 feet 7 inches and 175 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes.
