4.1 Aftershock Rocks SoCal

This one was centered one mile southeast of Rowland Heights.

A magnitude 4.1 earthquake, first estimated to be 4.5, centered about one mile southeast of Rowland Heights struck at 2:32 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake was felt strongly in downtown Los Angeles. Fullerton Fire Department Battalion Chief John Stokes said the shaking there lasted around 20 seconds

"This is a normal aftershock sequence," said Lucy Jones of Caltech's Seismological Laboratory.
