4 Arrests Made at DUI Checkpoint

About 1,300 vehicles went through the Friday checkpoint near City Hall.

Officers arrested three people on suspicion of driving under the influence during a sobriety checkpoint set up Friday near City Hall, police reported.

About 1,300 vehicles went through the checkpoint, which was at Newport Boulevard and Finley Avenue and ran from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.

In addition to the DUI arrests, one person was arrested on a warrant and 12 citations were given out, according to police. Three vehicles were impounded.
