3 DUI Arrests Made at Newport Checkpoint
More than 1,000 cars passed through Friday's checkpoint on Jamboree Road and Santa Barbara Drive.
A sobriety checkpoint Friday night on Jamboree Road and Santa Barbara Drive netted three DUI arrests, a police official reported today.
A total of 1,011 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, which started at 8:00 p.m. and ran through 3 a.m Friday, according to Kathy Lowe, police spokeswoman. Of those, five drivers were screened. Three citations were handed out for various violations and three drivers were arrested for drunken driving.
