2 Injured at Little Corona Beach, Crystal Cove State Park

One victim suffers minor injuries, the other is transported to a local hospital.

Two people were injured Sunday in separate incidents that required medical attention, authorities said.

Just before 2:30 p.m., Newport Beach firefighters and lifeguards responded to a report of someone needing assistance between Little Corona Beach and Ladder Rock, according to Jennifer Schulz of the Newport Beach Fire Department.

"The patient was not visible from any land access points; however the lifeguard boat was able to locate the victim," Schulz said. "The lifeguard boat then dropped his lifeguard deckhand to make contact with the patient."
