“Battle of the Sexes” at GRIT Cycle Raised Over $4,100

On Saturday, February 15th, GRIT Cycle hosted a sold-out, 90-minute indoor cycle community ride benefiting CHOC Children’s Heart Institute. Over 40 Newport Beach/Costa Mesa community members rode to benefit pediatric cardiac care through the CHOC Children’s Heart Institute. Some rode in honor of a loved one, many rode for people they will never meet, some rode for those who cannot, and EVERYONE rode TOGETHER. Cycling and spin is good for the heart and GRIT wanted to make sure that the children at CHOC Children’s Heart Institute are given the chance for a healthy heart. Each person donated $100 to participate and all funds collected from this ride are going towards research for pediatric cardiac care. Matt Bourne, co-founder of GRIT Cycle (along with Marisa Wayne and Candice Collings-Loomis), and top instructors Dani Gallinger, Lisa Mikelson, Stephanie Gschwendtner, Jeff Marcelo and Mike Angelo hosted and instructed the indoor cycle benefit ride and raised more than $4,100 in the process.
