Newport Beach, did you know when you support the sales of pet store puppies and kittens --like the ones sold at Russo's--you are supporting an industry of federal cruelty exploited by the Department of Agriculture?
Farming practices of USDA breeders were found in federal court to violate Federal Law of the United States. The industry-wide violations included implementing torturous factory farming practices on canines, treating them as if they were chickens and making them produce an unlimited supply of pet store puppies across the nation.
All pet store puppies must come from USDA breeders by law. USDA breeding practices put profit over care of the dogs violating the already scarce survival standards of “The Animal Welfare Act”. The AWA is cruel and minimally requires only adequate food, shelter from elements that kill, clean water and medical care for injury or disease.
Pet stores are the PUPPY MILL INDUSTRY. Forty percent of the puppies ordered for stock, by pet store owners and shipped from Midwest Puppy mills, die before they ever reach the pet store. FACT. They die under stress, being too young, packed in crates, and neglected in transport dying a terrorizing, helpless death, of dehydration and hypoglycemia. These are the parents of all pet store puppies, including every puppy in Russo’s. Canines suffering horrific cruelty for pet store puppies to be sold exclusively under FRAUD.
USDA Breeders are deemed “inhumane” and “torturous” in a federal court of law, violating the Federal Laws of the United States of America. No reputable breeder ever sells to pet stores, EVER! A reputable breeder would never sell to a convicted criminal of animal cruelty, such as Russo’s owner, Dan DiGiacomo.
The nation is in a CANINE CRISIS with some of us rushing to the aide of puppy mill breeding dogs. Drafting legislation, implementing corporate and city wide bans (such as Irvine and the Irvine Company) are some of the humane efforts easing mass federal cruelty and canine murder in our nation's puppy mills.
