Aetna Health Insurance drops Newport Beach clients

If you are one of the 49,000 individual policyholders in California that currently are insured by Aetna, they have decided to drop coverage to those folks January 01, 2014.  People who currently have Aetna individual health service coverage will have to find plans with other carriers by year-end.

Ironically, the Obama administration had highlighted its expectation that the new health-insurance marketplaces would boast strong competition.  But it seems the exact opposite effect is taking place, I guess the President did not consider Insurance companies operate on "profit".  Interesting enough Aetna purchased Coventry Health Care, Inc. which ensures that Aetna will receive its piece of the profits that will take place in the government sector.

If you have lost coverage or will be loosing coverage, feel free to contact me here in Newport Beach.
