A Newport Beach resident placed the highest bid at a charity auction this week and won a chance to meet Warren Buffett and tour the See's Candy factory in Los Angeles, according to Charitybuzz.com.

Jack Staub, an engineer and businessman, scored the sweet deal after bidding $156,000 on Tuesday during the "School Day" auction, which benefits a Los Angeles-area high school dropout prevention program, Charitybuzz.com reported in a released statement. Staub, his wife and their two kids will enjoy an all-you-can-eat tour of See's Candy factory, which is owned by Buffett's company, Berkshire Hathaway Inc.
“Jade and I were very impressed with Communities In Schools of Los Angeles and their focus on underserved kids. Last year we lost a dear friend, Kathy Godshalk, to cancer," Staub said in the statement. "Kathy taught math at Cypress College and proved supporting our future generations through education, caring and guidance makes an enormous difference. We would like to keep the cycle going through this worthy cause.”

The candy factory tour will include Buffett demonstrating the "only acceptable way to eat a bonbon," Charitybuzz.com reported.

Overall the charity auction raised $450,000 for Communities In Schools of Los Angeles. Other top auction items included lunch with Disney CEO Bob Iger, lunch with Twitter co-founder Biz Stone and golf with Morgan Freeman.
