Children's Non-Profit Hosts Halloween Charity Event

Just a Little Cloth,  a non-profit created by two Newport Beach girls to provide dresses to underprivileged girls, held a charity event over the weekend inspired by the spirit of Halloween.

JALC's "Art for a Cause" event was held Saturday and led by Brenda Benveniste, or "Mrs. B," a well-known Newport Beach art teacher. Held at the community center in Corona del Mar, a group of about 25 children spent a few hours creating Halloween crafts and treats. The entry fees went to support JALC.

JALC was the brainchild of elementary school students Alyssa Antoci and Brooke Besikof.

"Brooke and Alyssa also spoke in front of the class explaining how they started the charity and thanking all the kids there for supporting it," Tiffany Antoci, Alyssa's mother and co-founder of JALC, said. "Because of its huge success we are going to be having another art for a cause for the Christmas /Hanukkah season."
