OC Bandstand Summer Concert Series at the Yost Theater

OC Bandstand Summer Concert Series launches Sunday, July 7th at the Yost Theater in Santa Ana, CA.  The Yost will showcase the hottest rising teen bands throughout southern California in the first of three shows during the summer.  Teen artists are selected based on musicality, showmanship and originality.  Six bands will perform on Sunday, with a mix of rock-n-roll, bluegrass acoustic, pop and alternative.  Bands performing are pop-influenced, Sidney Bowen Music, endorsed by Bold Girlz, Daisy Rock Guitars and Madame Guitar Straps. The Brewer Boys who appeared on the X-Factor showcasing their 'Alternative Bluegrass' style of music, Johnny and the Gentlemen, whose original remix of Amy Winehouse's, 'Valerie' will bring a smile to your face.  The second half of the show will feature, Galvanized Souls whose pure rock will appeal to hard-core rocker fans, The Paralyzers whose female lead shadows Evanescence, and headlining band from the Vans Warped Tour, False Puppet, offering original remixes of rock/punk and alternative classics.

Fans will have the opportunity to take a photo with their favorite band, and purchase a printed copy as a keepsake of the event before they leave, provided by M. Allen Photography.  The show will be filmed, so if you'd like to get involved and become an audience member for an on-camera close-up and interview, then don't miss OC Bandstand!

MORE ABOUT OC BANDSTAND
OC Bandstand Promoter Kimberly Wilkins,

of Tall Chik PR, approached Text Kills® to sponsor the event

because of the growing problems of texting while driving and text-bullying

amongst the nation’s youth. Texting while driving has recently overtaken drunk
driving as the leading killer of American teenagers, and recent studies have
shown text-bullying to be just as damaging as traditional forms of bullying.
Unfortunately, both practices also seem to be on the rise.

“We organized this event as a way of getting a
positive message across using the power of music,” commented Wilkins. “Teens
really respond well to the idea of increasing safety through personal
responsibility when it’s presented to them in a way that they perceive to be
fun and cool, like a concert.”

The concert has continued to gain momentum since its
announcement, attracting attention and support from sponsors like RADD, a
nonprofit organization that uses celebrity influence to promote positive
attitudes about road safety, and Bold Girlz, a fashion apparel brand that
encourages and empowers young girls to give back to their communities. The involvement of Text Kills® also opens the door for additional group involvement, as the outreach organization has ties to many community and corporate groups, including a recently formed partnership with We Save Lives, a
driver safety organization whose President is Mothers Against Drunk Driving
(MADD) Founder Candace Lightner.

The
venue for the event, Santa Ana’s historic Yost Theater, was selected for its
central location, hospitality towards younger artists, and reputation as one of
the best professional music venues in Orange County. The venue affords concert-goers great sound, lighting, special effects, and production. OC
Bandstand feels that the Yost Theater provides the perfect environment for
their event and is in line with their outreach efforts, as the venue sets aside
a significant percentage of profits from its operations to subsidize cultural
and entrepreneurial based education for teens.
