Champions to CureDuchenne is an annual charity event that benefits CureDuchenne, a nonprofit that raises awareness and funds research to find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The event on March 29 at the Balboa Bay Club & Resort will celebrate 10 years of successfully advancing Duchenne research.
CureDuchenne will honor Doug Freeman, a nationally recognized former tax attorney and business executive, who played an integral role in establishing CureDuchenne's successful venture philanthropy model.
Chef Jamie Gwen will create a special menu for the event. Gwen is a celebrity chef, certified sommelier, lifestyle expert and four-time cookbook author. She hosts a weekly nationally syndicated radio show. Gwen recently won the Food Network's new show "Cutthroat Kitchen."
