Bistango Gardens to host "Block Parties" Wed - Fri through Sept 26

Bistango Gardens, the hidden al fresco dining area adjacent to the critically acclaimed restaurant, will begin holding Summer Block Parties with a dedicated menu and featured wines, craft beers and sangrias Wednesdays - Fridays through September 26. Located at the Atrium building in Irvine, Bistango Gardens will fire up the grill to prepare a range of items like Souvlaki Greek Marinated Beef Kebobs with basmati rice for $9; Berkshire Flat Iron Marinated Korean Samgyeopsal Style Beef for $10; Herb Garlic Marinated Chicken Breast with tatziki, harissa, cucumber and tomato on house-made pita for $10; Veal Saltimboca with Madeira Sauce for $8; and Duroc Pork Chop with fig glaze, red wine jus and arugula mustard crème fraiche for $12.  Other items include Hamachi sashimi, pulled pork sandwiches with mango barbecue, shrimp cocktail with lemon grass cilantro coconut cream, lamb tagine, oysters on the half shell, spicy ahi poke on wonton crisps, chicken lettuce wraps with ponzu, hummus with grilled pita and clams with kielbasa and IPA.

With mature trees, plants and flowers creating natural intimacy and an enormous circular fountain as its centerpiece, the patio offers conventional dining, private cabanas for larger groups and high-top cocktail tables for those seeking a more casual experience.  Oversized red umbrellas offer plenty of shade.  Nightly music will help set a festive tone for the Summer Block Parties.

“We are proud to debut out Summer Block Parties being held every Wednesday - Friday at Bistango Gardens,” said spokeswoman Karyn Ghoukassian.  “This year, we’ve decided to make it a self-contained and separately operated part of the restaurant where our food and beverage offerings will be prepared and served right there.”
