16th annual Trick or Treat Festival & Halloween Hearse Show-"Wicked Fun!"

A cauldron
of Wicked Fun for all ages is in
store for the 16th annual Trick or Treat Festival & Halloween
Hearse Show on Sunday, October 27 at the Orange County Market Place in Costa
Mesa.  The event, which also includes
free daytime trick or treating for kids in costume, runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.



 



The 14th
annual Halloween Hearse Show, which is a main attraction at this event,
features more than 50 vintage, restored and classic hearses, funeral cars,
ambulances as well as novelty vehicles such as a Kasket Kar, Coffin Go-Kart and
Dragula (like Grandpa Munster drove) in an all day exhibition.   The hearse show also includes a Day of the
Dead Altar Contest and Display.

Wickedly
creative artists will be showing their works. Larry Carr of Abracadaver
Productions in Fullerton, a sculptor of monsters, zombies and other creatures
for major amusement parks, haunts , movies and other attractions, will be
demonstrating his craft as well as displaying a number of finished pieces. Also
Doug Goodreau carving out peculiar pumpkin characters, sugar skull art by Dany
Hernandez,  Grave Visions Photography and
All Hallows Eve Goth Jewelry and Accessories will be on hand.

The Next
Elvira, April Wahlin, the winner of Fox Reality TV Game Show "The Search
for the Next Elvira, will host the Dead Ringer Costume Contest at 2 p.m.  for costumes depicting anyone famous, living
or dead. Geared for ages 13 and older. 
Space is limited. Pre-register by sending email to 2013deadringers@email.com.  Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded from
first to third place.



 



All ages are
welcome to enter the 3rd Annual I Scream for Ice Cream Contest  presented by Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour
Restaurants in which the best screams get you a $60 Farrell’s Zoo Party for
first place, $30 worth of Farrell’s Ice Cream for second place  and $10 worth for third place. All
contestants receive a free ice cream cone!  
Divisions for kids 12 and under, and 13 and older.  15 contestants per division.  Sign up in advance at Scream4IceCream@mail.com



 



Other
entertainment and attractions include carnival sideshow magican and comedian,
Aye Jaye; Freak Show Deluxe; strolling witches and calacas; free face painting;
Relampago del Cielo Grupo de Folklorico performing a Day of the Tribute show; Jack’s
Halloween Spooktacular Marionette Show and Wicked Wizard magician.



 



The festival
is held in conjunction with the regular Market Place activity, which runs from
7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is included in admission which is $2, or free for kids 12
and under. Free trick or treating runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
