Patch Blog: Let Herbs Tickle Your Tastebuds
Learn the simple secrets to growing herbs in pots on Wednesday. Cristin Fusano will explain the importance of soils, fertilizers, light exposure and great recipes too!
Home-made holiday meals are not complete without fresh herbs from your garden. Every beautifully browned Thanksgiving turkey needs its famous companions; parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme. These herbs and others are so easy to grow yourself, whether in the ground or in a patio garden.
Sherman Gardens has its very own sensory garden where many of these herbs are on display to tickle your tastebuds. Some of the herbs you'll find are old favorites and others might be a bit strange and new. Join our Herb class this week to learn even more about herbs and great ways to use them while cooking.
The class will be led by Cristin Fusano, local landscape designer and horticultural wiz. Discover many easy ways to grow your own herbs and great recipes to wow your family. The class will begin Wednesday at 9 a.m. at Sherman Gardens. The fee is $50 for non-members and $45 for 'friends'. Participants will recieve expert advice and their very own flat of growing salad greens. Call 949-673-2261 to reserve your spot.
